Advertisements can be such a menace, when you watch a video on
YouTube and some ad that is not relevant to what you are watching pops up can
be such a pain. You might be aware that there is software to help reduce the
amount of ads that bother your web surfing when you are “in the zone”. However
these programs might not always consistently work, and your money would go
right down the drain.
To solve this small dilemma, YouTube is going to be realising their very own subscription to get rid of those ads for you. The catch to this little feature is price $9.00, which in my opinion this price is far too much. I think subscription is overpriced, because this subscription is only for YouTube and other programs are free. Also YouTube does offer the “skip ad” button which is free during the longer advertisements. The only drawback, which really isn't a big deal is you have to wait three seconds to be able to click skip the ad button. Despite the free “skip ad” I think people will buy this subscription. I think that people will buy this subscription, because we are human and therefore impatient.
This new ad blocker on YouTube might affect the people who advertise on their website. The companies, services, and websites that are advertise on YouTube will have less of an audience to advertise to. This decrease in people watching the commercials might leave the companies, services, and websites overlooked and ignored. The smaller companies will most vulnerable to being over looked. The smaller companies might not be a popular company that most people heard of, but a company that is just getting started. These companies usually do not large profits, therefore they have to inform the public about the product, website, or service in a cheap and efficient way. The new ad blocker by YouTube will be used by many (which is the point of creating the subscription) and other would wait for the free skip ad button (which is a good choice as well).
